1. Open Cottage is a directory, not a food seller

Open Cottage LLC operates Open Cottage as a directory and portfolio platform for independent food creators. We do not:

• Sell, prepare, cook, package, inspect, or deliver food
• Operate a marketplace checkout, cart, or payment system for food
• Take orders, manage inventory, or schedule pickup/delivery
• Act as a restaurant, cottage food producer, caterer, or food vendor
• Guarantee that any creator is licensed, permitted, insured, or compliant with local food laws

2. Off-platform purchases and arrangements

If you contact a creator, visit their business, buy food, arrange pickup, or make any other agreement based on information found on Open Cottage, that activity happens entirely between you and the creator (or other third parties). Open Cottage is not a party to those transactions and is not responsible for:

• Food quality, taste, freshness, or fitness for consumption
• Allergens, ingredients, labeling, or dietary claims
• Foodborne illness, injury, or other health outcomes
• Pricing, refunds, cancellations, or disputes
• Delivery/pickup timing, location safety, or customer service
• Taxes, permits, cottage food rules, or other regulatory compliance

3. Creator-provided information

Profile content (including photos, descriptions, specialties, and contact links) is provided by creators. Open Cottage does not independently verify every claim. Visitors should use their own judgment and verify important details directly with the creator before purchasing or consuming food.

4. Allergies and health

If you have food allergies, intolerances, medical dietary needs, or other health concerns, do not rely solely on Open Cottage profiles. Confirm ingredients and preparation practices with the creator or another reliable source before consuming any food.

5. Assumption of risk

By using the Service and choosing to interact with creators off-platform, you assume the risks associated with those interactions, including risks related to food preparation, handling, transport, and consumption.
